Brad always strives to “get it right!” Looking after the best interest of others is part of his DNA. The term “fiduciary” describes the intersection of Brad’s interests, gifts, heart and motivation. He says that helping his clients best position their assets is the “high calling that I covet.”
A finance class at the University of Southern California (USC) ignited Brad’s passion for wealth management. After graduating from USC’s Marshall School of Business with a BS in finance in 1980, he began his 36-year career at EF Hutton & Company, which later became Lehman Brothers, Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley. He first served as an account executive, then quickly became one of the firm’s top advisors. He was asked to serve as trustee for the multi-billion-dollar Kern County Employee’s Retirement Association, where he served as chairman of the board.
Brad is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional; a Certified Kingdom Advisor; and a former Certified Investment Management Analyst through the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School.
Brad has served as president of the Estate Planning Council of Bakersfield and of KCERA Property, Inc. Earlier he was an ordinary seaman at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution aboard the Alcoa Seaprobe and a core hand at Reese Sales, Inc. He has served as president of Southern Sierra Council Boy Scouts of America and chairman of Kern County Youth for Christ.
Brad enjoys working out with his trainer, hanging out at the ranch and spending time with his grandkids.
Brad is thrilled to bring his family together to create a legacy to support the Bakersfield community and beyond with advice solely in the clients’ best interest.
Andrew is driven to find a better way, whether creating a software program to gain efficiencies or a new approach to help ensure foolproof trades. He takes the time to do what is right the first time, and to make improvements for the best possible outcomes.
Andrew’s interest in finance came fortuitously from his need to pay for a motorcycle in college. His Dad suggested he work for him at Morgan Stanley and run his customer relationship management system. Not new to technology – Andrew taught himself HTML when he was seven – he set up the database in a month, a task two people before him could not master. Over time, he realized he had a knack for the more analytical side of the business and joined Morgan Stanley full-time during his senior year. Halfway through the wirehouse’s Financial Advisory Associate training program, he and his father decided to start their own firm, Entruity. At the time, the Department of Labor under the Obama Administration was lobbying for a fiduciary rule that challenged the integrity of wirehouses acting in the best interest of their clients. They founded Entruity so that they could operate in the “best-interest” world.
At Entruity, Andrew meets with clients, constructs financial plans, executes trades, and builds and maintains the firm’s technology.
A native and resident of Bakersfield, he is a graduate of Bakersfield Christian High School and received a BS in business administration with a concentration in finance from California State University, Bakersfield. He has served as Bakersfield president of the Financial Management Association of California State University. He is working toward the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
Andrew is a man of many interests. His two special interests are his wife, Kaylee, and their daughter, Blair. He also is a music buff, and enjoys Steely Dan, Red Hot Chili Peppers (when John Frusciante is on the album) and Linkin Park to name a few. Proficient at bass guitar, he also dabbles in the drums. In addition, he enjoys creating content with photography and videography. Years back, he ran a motovlogging YouTube channel (recording a vlog while motorcycling).
Laurie’s welcoming way, attention to detail and strong organizational skills immediately put clients at ease. As head of Entruity’s office management, she easily engages with clients and is quick to respond to their needs so they gain a comfort level that their requests will be addressed accurately and efficiently.
Laurie, who oversees client service, account maintenance (non-trading) and operations, is no stranger to juggling simultaneous projects, problem-solving and following strict procedures. Before joining Entruity, she held a variety of positions in customer relations, administration and sales. This experience helps her handle client requests effectively as well as help ensure compliance. She received a BA in economics and French from Hillsdale College. She also studied at L’Institut de Touraine in Tours, France.
Laurie lives in Bakersfield with her dog, Ilsa, a pit/boxer mix. In addition to playing volleyball every week, she enjoys road-tripping and travel, going to concerts and getting coffee with friends.
Julie’s caring approach is invaluable in overseeing the administration services of Entruity. She and Brad were married in 1985 and became parents in 1987, when she focused on raising their family of four children. Now that their children are grown, she is applying her skills to the family firm.
When she is not managing the office, Julie is actively involved in volunteering for her church and teaching Sunday School.
