Andrew C. Barnes
ANDREW C. BARNES
President & CIO
Andrew is driven to find a better way, whether creating a software program to gain efficiencies or a new approach to help ensure foolproof trades. He takes the time to do what is right the first time, and to make improvements for the best possible outcomes.
Andrew’s interest in finance came fortuitously from his need to pay for a motorcycle in college. His Dad suggested he work for him at Morgan Stanley and run his customer relationship management system. Not new to technology – Andrew taught himself HTML when he was seven – he set up the database in a month, a task two people before him could not master. Over time, he realized he had a knack for the more analytical side of the business and joined Morgan Stanley full-time during his senior year. Halfway through the wirehouse’s Financial Advisory Associate training program, he and his father decided to start their own firm, Entruity. At the time, the Department of Labor under the Obama Administration was lobbying for a fiduciary rule that challenged the integrity of wirehouses acting in the best interest of their clients. They founded Entruity so that they could operate in the “best-interest” world.
At Entruity, Andrew meets with clients, constructs financial plans, executes trades, and builds and maintains the firm’s technology.
A native and resident of Bakersfield, he is a graduate of Bakersfield Christian High School and received a BS in business administration with a concentration in finance from California State University, Bakersfield. He has served as Bakersfield president of the Financial Management Association of California State University. He is working toward the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
Andrew is a man of many interests. His three special interests are his wife, Kaylee, and their daughters, Blair and Audrey. He also is a music buff, and enjoys Steely Dan, Red Hot Chili Peppers (when John Frusciante is on the album) and Linkin Park to name a few. Proficient at bass guitar, he also dabbles in the drums. In addition, he enjoys creating content with photography and videography. Years back, he ran a motovlogging YouTube channel (recording a vlog while motorcycling).
